Sr Dimension and Gage Layout Technician/Programmer

Madison-Kipp is a $70+ million manufacturer of engineered components for the automotive and industrial markets. Our components consist of aluminum die casting on high-volume and close tolerance machining to include some sub-assembly. Aluminum machines range from 600 to 1200 ton closing capability with most in fully automatic cells.

Position Summary: Provide complete precision inspection of parts, fixtures, gages and tools to determine exact compliance to customer specifications and requirements. Perform inspection using advanced metrology equipment, i.e. optical comparator, Zeiss CMM operation, CMM programming using CALYPSO Software, and manual layout.

Requirements: Two year technical school training or ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector or Technician etc., programming training, solids model training, four year experience in blueprint reading, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), operation of standard metrology equipment, competence in math, including geometry, and trigonometry. Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and specifications using GD&T. Competency in use of advanced set up methods and metrology equipment, such as optical comparator, manual Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), DCC CMM for running production support related programs. Good communication and interpersonal skills (person must be able to communicate with all levels in the company). A knowledge of computers, i.e. Windows operation, Microsoft words, Microsoft Excel. Prefer knowledge of Calypso software.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Individual will be working in the Dimension & Gage Metrology lab and will have frequent contact with the production operations.

Full-time employment Monday thru Friday 7:00am-3:30pm position with overtime.
