Basic Purpose
This position is accountable for coordinating all aspects of the quality assurance process. The incumbent is expected to develop, implement and maintain necessary Quality Management Systems (QMS) that meets both our Customer and Accuride Corporate requirements. These may include: TS 16949, ISO-9000, etc. Additional QMS processes would include 8D resolution/management, Measurement Systems Analysis, Statistical Process Control, APQP, PPAP, Managing customer concerns etc. The incumbent is responsible for interacting with customers at their location and/or on a routine basis.

This position shares accountability for formulating and achieving the facility’s short term and long term operational plans and ensuring that products are manufactured safely, meet quality requirements and are shipped on-time.

The incumbent will facilitate employee training, assure that safe work practices are in place, administer the labor agreement(s), and provide appropriate, consistent and fair disciplinary measures as required. Additionally, has responsibility for supporting activities in accordance with established Environmental, Safety and Health policies and procedures.

1. Plan/design, direct, control, manage and coordinate all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure that it is in compliance with Customer and Accuride expectations and standards.
2. Enable systems to ensure product conformance to specification.
3. Schedule work force in accordance with production and audit requirements.
4. Administer automated time and attendance system for assigned employees.
5. Ensure workforce has proper tools to safely, effectively and efficiently perform tasks.
6. Administer Collective Bargaining Agreement in accordance with company philosophies, policies, procedures and systems; apply knowledge and skills gained through supervisory training.
7. Ensure workforce compliance with Safety and Housekeeping policies and procedures through training, auditing and enforcement.
8. Ensure workforce compliance with Environmental and Health policies and procedures through training, auditing and enforcement.
9. Administer HR policies and procedures in a timely, consistent and appropriate manner.
10. Identify continual improvement and advanced (lean) manufacturing projects and drive results.
11. Drive self development so as to ever improve knowledge, skills and ability.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

* Related Quality or Engineering undergraduate degree
* Minimum of five years supervisory experience or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
* Preferred ASQ CQE. Demonstrated and comprehensive knowledge of quality systems, tools and procedures (TS 16949/ISO-9000) such as: SPC, MSA, DOE, 8D/CAPA, APQP, PPAP, etc.
* Preferred ASQ CSSBB. Demonstrated knowledge of core lean manufacturing methodologies and implementation such as VSM, StdW, TPM, 5S, Error Proofing, etc.
* Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
* Demonstrated use of analytical tools and techniques. Able to teach others
* Proficient with PC applications, preferably Microsoft (word processor, spreadsheets). Minitab experience helpful.
