The ASQ Madison Section 1217 Donald Ermer Education Scholarship Program was named so in 2007 for our late friend and colleague, Professor Don Ermer, who served for so many years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering. Don demonstrated his passion for Quality through his commitment to his students and in his never-ending pursuit of learning.
In 2000, that passion earned Don the Eugene L. Grant Medal from ASQ in 2000. The Grant Medal is presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the development and presentation of a meritorious educational program in quality. Past recipients have included Joseph Juran, Kaoru Ishikawa, Harold Dodge, and Noriaki Kano, just to name a few. Don's impact on those around him was profound, and we are honored to offer our section scholarships in his name.
The Madison Section 1217 Donald Ermer Education scholarships are offered to our section members and their families, as a benefit of local section membership. We hope you will take advantage of this benefit and show your support for continued learning that was such a part of Professor Ermer's life.
Thank you,
The ASQ Madison Section 1217 Scholarship Committee
